Епілепсія є найпоширенішим неврологічним захворюванням у собак. Епілептичний статус (status epilepticus, SE) – це тяжкий, потенційно загрозливий для життя невідкладний неврологічний стан у ветеринарній медицині, що характеризується безперервною судомною активністю або серією послідовних епілептичних нападів тривалістю понад 30 хвилин без повного відновлення свідомості між ними. У частини пацієнтів епілептичний статус набуває рефрактерного перебігу, не відповідає на стандартні протисудомні схеми лікування та може призводити до розвитку тяжких ускладнень, включаючи летальний наслідок. Метою цього огляду є комплексний аналіз сучасних фармакологічних і нефармакологічних підходів до лікування епілептичних нападів та рефрактерного епілептичного статусу, що застосовуються у ветеринарній і гуманній медицині. Особливу увагу приділено сучасним доказовим даним щодо ефективного контролю судомної активності, профілактики ускладнень, підвищення виживаності пацієнтів та покращення результатів лікування.
