Policy on Compliance with Bioethical Standards in Scientific Research

General Provisions

The Editorial Board of the «Agrarian Bulletin of the Black Sea Littoral» adheres to the principles of bioethics, humanity, legality, and academic integrity in the review and publication of manuscripts. The Journal follows internationally recognized ethical standards and is guided by the principles established by the World Medical Association, particularly the Declaration of Helsinki, the guidelines of the Council for International Organizations of Medical Sciences (CIOMS), as well as the recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors and the Committee on Publication Ethics. The Editorial Board of the Journal is also guided by the current legislation of Ukraine concerning bioethical principles in the conduct of scientific research.

Research Involving Human Participants

Manuscripts reporting research involving human participants must comply with the following requirements:

  • Approval by an appropriate institutional or national Research Ethics Committee.
  • Obtaining voluntary informed consent from all participants.
  • Protection of privacy and confidentiality of personal data in accordance with applicable legislation.
  • Minimization of physical, psychological, and social risks to participants.

Authors must indicate in the manuscript the name of the ethics committee, approval number, and date of approval.

Research Involving Animals

Studies involving laboratory or clinical animals must comply with the principles of humane treatment and the 3Rs concept (Replacement, Reduction, Refinement). Authors must confirm:

  • Approval by an institutional animal care and use committee or equivalent ethics body.
  • Compliance with national and international standards governing animal research and welfare.
  • Scientific justification of the animal model and sample size used.

Biosafety and Biosecurity

Manuscripts involving pathogenic microorganisms, genetically modified organisms, or other potentially hazardous biological agents must comply with applicable biosafety and biosecurity regulations. The Editorial Board reserves the right to request documentation confirming appropriate authorization and compliance.

Final Provisions

Submission of a manuscript to the Journal constitutes confirmation that the authors have complied with all applicable bioethical standards and accept full responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of the reported information. The Editorial Board regularly updates this policy in accordance with international standards and national legislation.
