Abstract

A study was conducted to evaluate the effect of diets with increased concentrations of threonine and methionine, combined with fluid intake during the first days of life, on the survival rate of broiler chicks.
In accordance with the experimental design, four groups were formed, each consisting of 30 animals.
The control group was fed the standard diet (SD)—a complete loose-mix feed without supplementary watering.
For birds in experimental group 2, the concentration of threonine and methionine was increased by 0.1%; broiler chickens in experimental group 3 received an enroxil + glucose solution from days 1–4, Tri-Sol from days 5–11, and trisulfon from days 12–14; and on days 4, the experimental diet with increased concentrations of threonine and methionine in combination with water supplementation.
The base ingredients for the compound feed for all groups were: soybean meal – 30%, wheat – 30%, corn – 30%, barley – 3%, sunflower oil – 2%, and other feed materials and additives – 5%. The birds’ requirements for trace elements, vitamins, and other biologically active substances were met by adding 0.5% of a premix intended for broiler chickens to the diet.
According to the research results, the highest survival and live weight rates were observed in birds of experimental group 4, whose feed had increased threonine and methionine levels by 0.1%, and which also received early water intake.
