DEVELOPMENT OF MEASURES TO ENSURE THE IСHTYOPATHOLOGICAL WELL-BEING OF AQUACULTURE OBJECTS AND FARMS

Abstract

Veterinary specialists together with fish farmers (ichthyopathologists) should draw up a plan of preventive and epizootic measures for farms, which should be approved by the department of veterinary services. Fish farmers specialists should exercise control over pathogens in aquaculture farms, access the degree of their harm to cultivated aquatic animals; clearly compile a list of pathogens for which it is necessary to carry out epizootic monitoring of fish farms, having accessed the degree of their harm to farmed aquatic organisms and the environment, indicating the exposure routes, the time of sampling to identify the pathogen. Examine the epizootic situation in neighboring regions, wherefrom the planting material for commercial aquaculture is imported. Monitor fish farming enterprises taking into account the peculiarities of existing technologies and biology of the cultivated species of hydrobionts, as well as taking into account the risk of certain diseases.
