Abstract

The authors of the article have attempted to investigate the level of formation of professional and ethical competence of future veterinary medicine doctors of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology of Odessa State Agrarian University.

The theoretical aspects of the meaning of the terms "competence", "competency", "professional and ethical competency" are considered. The research of the scientific community in the field of medical education, problems of psychology in
medical education, competences of personal professional development of the doctor, formation of professional-ethical competence and professionally important qualities of the veterinary medicine doctor was carried out. The state of formation of the modern ethical complex of veterinary medicine doctor is analyzed. This aspect is indispensable in the course of forming the professional competencies of the future veterinary medicine doctor, learning activity and practical training while studying in the specialty 211 Veterinary Medicine at the Odessa State Agrarian University. The authors paid attention to the formation of moral aspects of higher education students of OSAU, which are based, first of all, on the common values, public opinion and students' personal beliefs. The professional and ethical competence of the future veterinary doctor studying at the OSAU is beginning to emerge on the basis of moral aspects. In the article developed questionnaires to test the ethical competence of future veterinary doctors studying at the OSAU. The main attention was paid to the ability to reconcile their own interests, goals, motives with the requirements and standards of veterinary clinics, which is the key to becoming a veterinarian specialist. Researchers have come to the conclusion that it is necessary to increase the knowledge of applicants of higher veterinary education in the field of professional ethics of veterinary medicine during lectures, seminars, workshops, as well as during practice in veterinary clinics and animal farms.
