PARANEOPLASTIC SYNDROMES AND COMPLICATIONS AFTER CHEMOTHERAPY IN SMALL ANIMALS

Paraneoplastic syndromes are clinical symptoms, the development of which is caused by nonspecific reactions from the organs and systems of the sick body and the development of the tumor in the body. There are common features in the pathogenesis of the development of the syndrome: appearance only in the presence of a certain malignant tumor, nonspecific clinical manifestation; lack of communication with certain local changes in the affected organs and tissues; disappearance after removal of the tumor and the appearance again for relapse. Depending on the symptoms in clinical veterinary practice, paraneoplastic syndromes can be distinguished: endocrine, musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, dermatological, hematological, gastroenterological, nephrological, neurological, atypical and mixed.Recently, the diagnosis of tumors in animals has expanded significantly and improved, which makes it possible for veterinarians to diagnose tumors in the early stages and help animals. When prescribing chemotherapy drugs, healthy cells suffer in the first place, they are the ones that are damaged first, when using all antitumor drugs. The main disadvantage of chemotherapeutic drugs is the lack of strictly selective action of the drug, which would be aimed at neutralizing only tumor cells. Therefore, all drugs have a number of side effects and is an additional burden for the sick body
