Declaration on the Use of Artificial Intelligence and AI-Supported Technologies

The policy of the Agrarian Bulletin of the Black Sea Littoral regarding the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools is based on COPE statements and the journal’s publication ethics.

Authors must disclose the use of AI tools in the preparation of their manuscript, clearly describing how the technologies were applied, including for creating images or graphical elements, collecting and analyzing data, or performing other tasks. AI technologies should be used under human supervision, and authors must carefully review and edit AI-generated content.

AI tools cannot be listed as authors, as they do not meet authorship criteria and cannot take responsibility for the work. Authors bear full responsibility for the content and originality of the manuscript. They must confirm that no part of their work created using AI or AI-supported technologies constitutes plagiarism, violates the journal’s ethical policy, or has been submitted to or considered by another journal.

Reviewers and editors must treat submitted manuscripts as confidential documents. They must not upload the manuscript or any part of it into generative AI tools, as this may breach author confidentiality and intellectual property rights. This requirement also applies to peer review reports, which may contain confidential information.

The peer review of a manuscript and the management of editorial decisions involve responsibilities that can only be held by humans. The use of AI must not violate academic integrity, copyright, or confidentiality and cannot be used to manipulate review outcomes or authorship.

Any violations related to undisclosed or inappropriate use of AI will be considered a potential breach of publication ethics.
